PSA If you have terrible looping issues or random character generations try update your CUDA to 13.3
I had terrible looping issues on Q3 quants, tried XSS, and S from unsloth, I also tried higher quants but I was getting gibberish output, then I updated my CUDA from 13.2 to 13.3 and issues were gone. This may not be a guaranteed fix, but it is worth trying.
Even when using an OpenRouter provider that uses unquantized BF16, the same issues persist: infinite loop, tool_call errors, and problems with EOS completion processing during thinking.
Since adjusting the temperature and top_p values does not solve the problem, I believe that fundamentally there is a defect in the model's own weights.
